Saturday, January 31st, 7pm - 9:30pm
Please join us for an in-person fundraising evening at Holy Ground, featuring a Palestinian dinner, drinks, poetry, music and mingling — bringing our community together to create a unique thriving cultural hub dedicated to freedom and liberation which begins with Palestine, its people, and its story.
Holy Ground is the new home of Watermelon Books Los Angeles and the next chapter of Watermelon Books in Amman, Jordan — bringing this vision to the United States and expanding an international cultural project rooted in the Palestinian experience – the story, memory, culture, and art of a people and struggle that have inspired the world.
But Watermelon Books is not just a bookstore -- it's an act of cultural resistance – a living, growing archive and space to gather around the literature, art, and collective exchange that will nourish the global awakening to Palestinian life, history, and a generations-long struggle for freedom.
To open our doors end of February, we need to raise $10,000 to purchase 1,000–1,200 English-language books on Palestine — from history and poetry to politics, cookbooks, and children’s literature — giving a home to restore, celebrate, and safeguard the narrative and voices of a people which have been so aggressively silenced and targeted for erasure for over a century.
We're offering the following ticket levels and invite you to select one below as space is limited.
Zeit & Zaatar Supporter – $60
Rose Petal Supporter – $85
Includes 1 raffle ticket + $10 Watermelon Books gift certificate
Orange Blossom Supporter – $125

We look forward to welcoming you to Holy Ground.
